PregSource is a crowdsourcing research project that collects information about pregnancy directly from those who are pregnant. Participants simply answer questions about their experiences, their health, and (after delivery) their babies health. There are no tests, no appointments, and no limits with PregSource—you can enter information and log experiences anytime, from anywhere.

Surprisingly, there’s still a lot we don’t know about pregnancy. PregSource—a research effort led by the National Institutes of Health—aims to expand knowledge about pregnancy by getting information directly from pregnant participants.

This secure, confidential app invites pregnant participants to answer questions about their health history, current health, and birthing situations. Those who join can also track their weight, sleep, mood, and other features of their pregnancy.

PregSource includes questions about:
- Age, education level, and other background information
- Changes in weight, sleep patterns, and other pregnancy symptoms
- Pre-pregnancy medical conditions, pregnancy-related problems, and other health information

There are also questions about labor and delivery, such as where you gave birth, and your baby’s health, such as birth weight and length.

Once in the app, your information is protected so others won’t know who you are or how you answered any of the questions. Instead, researchers and other participants will see grouped data that will help them spot trends, similarities, and differences in pregnancy experiences.

As PregSource gathers more information, it will become a valuable resource for answering important research questions about pregnancy.
